They both die at the end by Adam Silvera

Slow things right down for this love story. This is set in a world where ‘Death-Cast’ calls you up when you’re about to die. If they call you, you know that you’ll be dead within 24 hours. Those who are telephoned are called Deckers, and they don’t know how they’re going to die. The two main characters here are Mateo and Rufus, and they hook up via an app provided for the purpose of connecting ‘last-friends’. The story follows the two boys as they navigate their final day, facing their fears, and ultimately falling in love.

It’s a fascinating concept. I’m sure most of us have asked ourselves what we’d do if we knew we only had one day left to live. No? Just me then? The reality that plays out in this book for Mateo and Rufus is truly engaging, tackling the big issues, arguably the biggest issues of love and death.
