NEWS: Books on the shelf in local bookshop - One Tree Books

Indie authors focus mainly on eBooks, for the good reason that we just can’t compete with the big publishers for placement of paperbacks, marketing budgets, and visibility. But what if, like me, it’s the paperback that you love. - the feel of the book in your hands, the smell, the cover - all of it…! There are print copies available through the online stores of course, but there’s nothing like walking into a shop and browsing the books - picking them up, flicking through, reading the back, talking to the bookseller about what they think of it….

So…there’s the option of local independent bookshops. I love these places. The staff are passionate and knowledgeable, the layout and stock is particular to each shop so you get a different experience in every shop. AND…they need support. They are battling against the giants, and the rise of the eBook. I support local indies through bookshop.org (check it out)- but even better is direct support by buying from the shop. My local indies here in the south east of England are the Blue Bear in Farnham, the Haselmere bookshop, and One Tree Books in Petersfield. And, as the the title of this news item gives away, I’m excited that the first two books ion my Interland Series are now stocked in One Tree Books.
